Feature is a fast-growing, high-end fashion collective with locations in Las Vegas, Calabasas, and more. Barrett Building had the honor of general contracting for Feature’s first Calabasas store and its expansion in 2022. As with their inventory of clothing, music, and art, the Feature store itself places high priority on uniqueness and high-end feel. Items are displayed on, in, and around custom-made cabinetry, acrylic boxes, and hand-assembled iron pipe racking. Extensive LED accent lights are seamlessly integrated throughout, heightening the dramatic appearance of the store’s limited-edition, exclusive products.
Each of Feature’s stores are tailor-made to compliment and/or comment on their surrounding areas. Each store is unique as a result. In Calabasas, Feature’s designer utilized colors and materials that starkly contrast - much like so many aspects of Los Angeles and Southern California in general. In terms of color, black and white elements pop off of each other. In terms of materials, the polished concrete floor, glossly acrylic boxes, and polished marble are beautifully contradicted by a floor-to-ceiling faux-stone accent wall and charred wood veneers.
